The Pennsylvania Arts Council has discontinued the longstanding NEA folk arts apprenticeship program.
This apprenticeship is funded in part by the South Carolina Arts Commission which receives support from the
National Endowment for the Arts
Winning an apprenticeship finances your lessons
for a year plus expenses.
The apprenticeship deadlines for 2026-27 have passed.
New applications will open in winter 2026.
You must be a resident for the folk arts grants,
but the master/mentor does not have to be.
Applicants need to show commitment to
learning the music of old East Galway.
Check with me before applying.

Arts Council to apply through them.
